Cookies Policy

Cookies are small text files placed on your device (computer, tablet, or phone) by the websites you visit. They are widely used to make websites work, to make them work more efficiently, and to provide information to the owners of the site. Similar technologies include local storage, session storage, and pixel tags; for the purpose of this Policy, we refer to all of these collectively as "cookies".

Cookies set by the website you are visiting are called "first-party cookies". Cookies set by a different domain (for example, a payment provider whose checkout you are completing) are called "third-party cookies".

Maponim uses only the following essential cookies. Without them, the Services cannot function.

Authentication session cookies (Supabase)

When you sign in through Google OAuth, our authentication provider Supabase sets one or more session cookies in your browser (typically named with the prefix `sb-`). These cookies identify you to our backend on every request so we know which account you are signed into, which sites you own, and which permissions you have.

• Purpose: keep you signed in across pages and authorize API requests.
• Type: first-party, HTTP-only, secure where supported.
• Duration: persistent across the duration of your session (typically up to one year, refreshed on use).
• Strictly necessary: yes — without these cookies you cannot use the dashboard, editor, or any logged-in feature.

Local storage entries used by Maponim

We use a small number of `localStorage` keys in your browser to remember non-personal preferences. These are not cookies in the technical sense but behave similarly and are covered for transparency:

• `maponim:cookies-ack` — records that you have acknowledged the cookie notice so we don't show it again on every page load.

These entries contain no personal data and are not sent to our servers.

When you make a payment (for a subscription or a Custom Domain), you are redirected to Stripe's hosted checkout flow. Stripe sets its own cookies on its own domain (`stripe.com` and `js.stripe.com`) for fraud prevention, to complete the payment, and to remember saved payment methods. These cookies are controlled by Stripe and are governed by Stripe's own privacy and cookies policies.

We do not set any third-party cookies on the Maponim domain itself.

For clarity, as of the effective date of this Policy, Maponim does not use any of the following:

• Analytics cookies (such as Google Analytics, Plausible, Mixpanel, PostHog, or similar).
• Advertising or marketing cookies (such as Facebook Pixel, Google Ads, LinkedIn Insight, or any retargeting tools).
• Cross-site tracking or fingerprinting technologies.
• Social media embed cookies.

Cookieless analytics we do use

We use Vercel Web Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights to measure aggregate, anonymous usage of Maponim (page views, top pages, referrers, country-level breakdowns, and Core Web Vitals such as page-load speed). These services are **cookieless by design** — they do not set any cookies on your device, do not track individual users, and do not collect personal data. They are described in more detail in our Privacy Policy.

If we add any non-essential cookie or tracking technology in the future, we will update this Policy and show a clearly visible consent banner before any such cookie is set on your device, in line with applicable law (including the EU ePrivacy Directive and GDPR consent rules).

Because Maponim only uses strictly necessary cookies, there is no toggle to disable specific categories in our cookie notice — there are no non-essential categories to disable.

You can still control or delete cookies through your browser's settings at any time:

• Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data
• Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data
• Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
• Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Cookies and site data

Be aware that blocking or deleting our essential cookies will sign you out of Maponim and prevent the dashboard, editor, and checkout from functioning correctly.

If you want to see the cookie notice again (for example, after clearing your browser data), use the "Cookie preferences" link in the footer of any Maponim page.

We may update this Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the cookies we use, in our service providers, or in applicable law. The latest version is always available at maponim.com/cookies, and the effective date at the top of this page will be updated each time we make a change.

If we add any new cookie category that requires your consent, we will re-show the cookie notice and update the dismissal record so that you have a fresh opportunity to review your choice.
